DC motors with built-in intelligence
New from OEM Automatic is the Mini Motor DBS, a true ‘one stop shop’ for automation and control featuring a built-in drive and absolute encoder with optional worm or planetary gearbox. With all the popular network protocols available, the company says the DBS motors give a performance to size ratio greater than ever before.
The open communication platform allows configuration with EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, Powerlink, Modbus, Profinet, Profibus and CANopen. The integrated encoder is an SSI multi-turn device offering 4096-PPR, which allows maximum freedom to adjust speed, torque, position and homing. Integrating all of the components – motor, encoder, gear and drive – into a single device means simpler installation, fewer cables and a reduction in costs.
Complementing the DBS is the WBS range, an all-in-one product, that has been designed to increase flexibility by simplifying the operation of automation systems. Described as an evolutionary leap in the world of automation, these brushless servomotors with integrated drive are completely wireless thanks to the built-in interface and the presence of an inductive charging battery.
Finally, for the highly demanding sectors requiring the utmost in cleanliness, the SS series of motors is a perfect combination of minimal dimensions and the superior characteristics of stainless steel. The motors feature a completely smooth surface, with excellent resistance to corrosion. The motors are submersible with IP69K protection. They are available as a motor only, or with worm/planetary gearbox. Power output is up to 740W. The motors are ideal for aggressive environments or where the highest standards of hygiene are required.
