Easier analysis of vibration

Easier analysis of vibration SKF has launched what it says is a new concept in vibration analysis instrumentation - the MX Series, part of the Microlog family of products. The company reckons that the new device redefines traditional approaches to vibration analysis and simplifies industrial maintenance, servicing and inspection techniques. The MX is a simple, easy to use device for a wide range of applications. By combining the latest handheld computing technology with a flexible range of analysis modules, SKF has created a multifunctional tool for users from all levels of experience. The instrument includes a conformance check module, which assesses machinery health in accordance with industrial standards. It also gives users the opportunity to define their own standards. The FFT spectrum analyser allows for an on-screen vector readout and the stand-alone balancer offers several option to choose from: static and dynamic couple, single or dual plane. In addition, the MX Series features a bump test for determining resonance as well as a digital signal recorder.
