Engineering's "Aladdin's" Cave returns to Farnborough bigger than ever

Engineering's "Aladdin's" Cave returns to Farnborough bigger than ever Southern Manufacturing & Electronics returns to FIVE, Farnborough, on February 12th and 13th 2014. The 2013 show established a new record for both visitor attendance as well as the number of firms participating. 2014 promises even further growth, with more than 100 additional companies joining the lengthening exhibitor list.

After nearly two decades of successive development, the show appears very likely to shatter records once more: The exhibition area will top even last year's record-breaking 15,000m_, further establishing it within the premier league of exhibitions by any benchmark. Even so, in spite of its maturity, the show has lost none of its distinctly buoyant atmosphere; a buzz that stems from the unique blend of big names exhibiting alongside an enthusiastic and diverse collection of SMEs from pretty much every branch of engineering. The combination of practical location, ease of access and credibility is a highly-effective magnet that pulled in more than 8500 visitors in 2013. Many of the UK's biggest engineering buyers are regular attendees at the show, and with manufacturing seemingly on the up, visitor numbers could conceivably top the landmark 10,000 this year.

Southern Manufacturing is simply an "Aladdin's Cave" of engineering products, including machinery manufacturers, tool suppliers, subcontractors and vendors covering nearly every imaginable manufacturing need. Southern Manufacturing, and its Northern sister event which launched last year, are the UK's only annual chance to find such a huge range of suppliers in just one trip.

The shows incorporate a wide landscape of engineering and production in a single location. Most importantly, as small to medium sized companies now underpin UK manufacturing, the SME-friendly design of the show helps it to be an attractive and invaluable forum for the  great many high-value engineering businesses supporting the UK's key manufacturing industries for example Aerospace, Automotive, Defence and Medical Technology.

With the event growing in stature every year, it has drawn in a greater number of significant exhibitors, such as RS Components, Haas Automation, Yamazaki Mazak, Kawasaki Robotics, Amada, Fanuc, Bystronic, Fronius, Brady, Brother, Olympus and many others. This ample variety of big and small; of specialist and general, gives the show a really unique profile. The exhibitor list is not confined to Southern-based businesses either; the show hosts participants from across the UK, and indeed from around the globe with suppliers from the USA, continental Europe and Japan all taking part in 2014.

Based at Farnborough Airport, near to the M3 in Hampshire, the show is within easy reach of London, and the Home Counties. With free admission, easy accessibility and plentiful on-site free parking, it is, not surprisingly, a consistently solidly supported event that guarantees something of interest to anyone involved in engineering.

In addition to the dazzling collection of engineering hardware displayed, Southern Manufacturing is also well-known for the free technical seminar programme taking part across the two days in two theatres. Full details of the seminars as well as the strongly advisable advance booking form can be found at www.industrysouth.co.uk

Entry to Southern Manufacturing and the seminar programmes is free of charge. In addition to free car parking on site at FIVE Farnborough, you will find a free shuttle bus running hourly between the show and both of Farnborough's railway stations. To apply for free tickets, simply visit www.industrysouth.co.uk.
