First magnetic energy chain available worldwide

First magnetic energy chain available worldwide It doesn't glide, it floats. The new LeviChain energy chain for long distances from Igus is claimed as the first energy chain available that floats in a magnetic force field and is therefore almost wear-proof and nearly silent running. Possible application areas include cleanrooms, medical engineering, measurement engineering, automotive paint plants, industrial robots, electronics manufacturing, materials handling and linear motors. Suspended in a magnetic force field and resisting the force of gravity, this innovative energy supply system adjusts itself to a state of equilibrium without causing any vibrations. LeviChain is held in a state of constant tension magnetically and is fixed within a metal guiding trough mechanically. This means the upper run of the energy chain can run freely and does not make contact with any other object. The usual sliding friction and related wear are eliminated because the upper and lower runs of the energy chain are unsupported and do not touch each other. The energy chain always moves in a magnetic field, so there is no unreeling or gliding noise whatsoever. With 41.7dB(A) at a distance of 1 metre, the LeviChain can practically not be heard. The almost silent wear-resistant LeviChain is cleanroom-compatible in accordance with ISO Cleanliness Class 4 (at v= 0.6m/s).
