Free machinery safety workshops

Leuze Electronic is running a series of free workshops on machine safety in October, as part of its UK, 20th birthday celebrations. There is a choice of three sessions including machine safety in hazardous environments (EX) and machine safety software which will all be held at Leuze Electronic's office at St Neots, Cambridgeshire.

All of the sessions will be run by Robert Sammer, manager of training and education for Leuze Electronic's machine safety systems in Germany. Robert is a well respected expert in machine safety and an active member of the European legislation committees.
The half day Machine Safety training workshop runs in the morning of October 11 and the afternoon of October 12. It covers: CE and PUWER requirements; current and forthcoming legislation; standards and their implications; case studies; and the free tools and resources available from Leuze Electronic. Also running on October 11 is the Machine Safety in Hazardous Areas workshop. This will cover: explosion protection fundamentals; ATEX 94/9/EC directive and its implications; duties of the manufacturer/installer/end user; machine safety in hazardous (EX) areas; case studies; and the free tools and resources from Leuze electronic.

Finally, on October 12 there is the Machine Safety software workshop - SAFEXPERT. This provides an introduction to the SAFEXPERT software and its use in determining control category and in relation to EN ISO 13849-1:2006 and IEC 61508. The session will also cover application and case studies of SAFEXPERT.
