High power from a tiny servo package

High power from a tiny servo package
Inmoco's new ultra-high power density Guitar servo drive from Elmo Motion Control is a PCB- mounted device that delivers up to 5kW of continuous qualitative power, and 70A peak current. The newest addition to Elmo's SimplIQ core family of servo drives, the Guitar provides superior servo performance, networking and intelligent capabilities with high level programming capability. It is designed to suit every motion control application, especially where servo performance and compactness are critical issues.

Measuring just 80x61x24.5mm, and weighing just 165 grams, the Guitar is the ideal OEM servo drive, combining high performance, high power and CANopen networking with size and weight saving, and PCB mounting to reduce the installed envelope of servo systems. The Guitar offers the facility for operation in position, velocity and current modes, as a network drive in distributed motion systems, or as a standalone motion controller.
