Hydraulic pumps cut fuel consumption

Parker Hannifin has expanded its range of twin flow hydraulic pumps, introducing new sizes to a series that has been designed to reduce fuel consumption in commercial and utility vehicles with multiple hydraulic systems. Depending on the application, this can be as much as five litres per hour. Called the F2 Series, the new pumps are ideal for use in refuse collection, forestry, gritting, recovery and construction vehicles, where hydraulics are used to control a wide range of ancillary equipment. In addition, for applications where a single flow pump is required, Parker offers its F1 Series of high efficiency, low noise pumps. The new F2 Series of twin flow pumps can be used to control each on-vehicle system independently, providing a precise and consistent flow of hydraulic oil at all times, including peak load, even when an open centre arrangement is used. In a typical configuration, the use of an F2 pump simplifies the construction of ancillary hydraulic circuits, eliminating the need for components such as oil coolers, reservoirs and flow limiters and reducing the number of hoses and connectors required. The ability to simplify system design minimises assembly and maintenance costs and helps to extend operating life. And by using an F2 pump it is possible to reduce power losses significantly.
