Inclinometer carries CSA approval

Inclinometer carries CSA approval
Sensors UK announces the introduction of CSA Approval for the SB2I sensor box from Seika. The SB2I-CSA is Intrinsically safe for Hazardous Locations to Class 1, Division 1, Groups A, B, C, D: Ex ia IIC T4. The tough and durable sensor box comes complete with two precision inclinometers for the measurement of horizontal or vertical angles. These sensors use a capacitive liquid based technique, and offer standard ranges from +/-10deg to +/-70deg and require a supply voltage of between 8 and 30 VDC.

Internal conditioning and amplification electronics give a rationalised output 4-20mA which is linear and proportional to the measuring angle. Non-linearity is claimed to be within 0.2 percent of full-scale output and resolution is to within 0.002deg for a +/-10deg range. Sensors UK describes the SB2I-CSA as a high quality system sensor for use under many types of extreme working conditions. Applications for these devises are wide and varied. They include tilt measurement on platforms, cranes, railroad cars, oilrig or ship movement, robotics and road vehicle testing.
