Long life wheels for washdown environments
The life of a bearing, within linear systems, can be seriously compromised in a harsh, washdown environment due to the ingress of corrosive fluids and loss of lubrication and this is precisely the reason why DualVee Washdown Wheels have been developed. Available from HepcoMotion these wheels actively repel liquid making them ideally suited for food and beverage applications as well as any high speed waterjet cutting application.  

Typically DualVee Washdown Wheels last three times longer than the average bearing, cutting replacement costs and saving maintenance time. However this maybe a conservative estimate as one manufacturer during the field trials of this product reported a six-fold increase in bearing replacement intervals.

Designed to be easily exchanged with standard vee wheels, DualVee Washdown Wheels have a unique outer shield and inner seal for exceptional protection from liquids and debris, in harsh linear applications. 

The over-moulded metallic shield acts as a primary seal when subjected to a stream of high pressure washdown fluid. This causes the shield to deflect and the soft rubber layer compresses against the metallic surface of the wheel forming a momentary seal that prevents the ingress of liquids.
