Minimise your shaft connection problems

Minimise your shaft connection problems Excessive wear, fretting corrosion, slipping shafts: the scenario is quite the same in conveying engineering as in drive technology. If a shaft connection causes problems, it will have to be unfastened during maintenance. Due to wear and fretting corrosion, an optimum connection is then impossible to achieve. The need to keep extensive stocks can cause further problems. Quite often, the fitting connector piece may not be available at short notice. The only alternative is to keep in stock a large number of different fits and parallel keys for the various shaft diameters. So you either have to increase your operational costs by enlarging your stock of spare parts, or you have to risk enormous losses in the event of a production standstill. Gerwah, however, is introducing a new type of system that solves all of these problems with a flexible, cost-effective and maintenance-friendly approach. The solution to the problem is called the Smart-Lock, and uses a simple but ingenious principle. Improved adapter sleeves are at the core of this new system. The Smart-Lock sleeves are recognisable by their untreated, forged surface. Gerwah achieves greater expansion by using new materials. Consequently, absolute performance reliability goes hand in hand with indestructibility, provided the system is applied properly. The Smart-Lock set makes the new adapter sleeves a key asset for all those who want to get their machines and conveyor belts back into service as quickly and easily as possible while enjoying the advantage of fewer spare parts logistics.
