New AC motor drives offer cost-effective options for automation needs

New AC motor drives offer cost-effective options for automation needs RS Components (RS) is now stocking two new ranges of variable speed AC motor drives from Delta Electronics, a leader in energy-efficient power management solutions. The VFD-E and VFD-EL Series provide low-cost options for machine and equipment builders who do not require AC motor drives with high levels of integration and functionality.

The VFD-E Series is a sensorless vector AC micro drive that features low power and constant torque, and is IP20 rated. Modular and compact in design with flexible extension cards and a built-in PLC function, the VFD-E drive offers the ability to write and execute simple ladder logic programs for applications such as small cranes; washing machines; treadmills; commercial air conditioning; and water supply systems. It incorporates a built-in EMI filter, RFI switch, DC bus sharing for side-by-side installation, high precision current detection, overload protection, and an optional detachable keypad. Communication modules are available for multiple communication protocols such as Profibus, DeviceNet, LonWorks and CANopen.

The VFD-EL series is a multi-function micro-type AC drive. It incorporates a built-in EMI filter, an RFI switch, and easy DC bus sharing for side-by-side installation, high precision current detection, overload protection, and a built-in keypad. Optional communication modules are available for multiple communication protocols such as Profibus, DeviceNet, LonWorks and CANopen. The VFD-EL Series is ideal for application in small pumps and fans, blowing machines, conveyer belts, and simple processing equipment.

Both product ranges offer single- and 3-phase input options with power ratings from 0.2kW to 22kW for VFD-E and 0.2 to 3.7kW for VFD-EL, and are fully compliant with UL, CE and C-Tick standards, making them suitable for a wide range of applications globally.
