New batteries for electric vehicles
Camden Electronics has launched a new range valve regulated lead acid (VRLA) batteries that are designed specifically for use in electric vehicle applications. The new BEV range of heavy duty 12V VRLA batteries is ideal for use in deep cycle applications such as mobility scooters, wheelchairs, robots, golf carts and floor cleaning machines among many others. Offering nominal capacities from 12 to 70Ah in industry standard sizes, BEV batteries feature flame retardant cases.

Designed for applications where a battery is constantly discharged then recharged, BEV batteries are available in seven sizes offering 12, 18 and 24Ah at 20h rate and 33, 40, 55 and 70Ah at 10h rate. Dimensions (lwh) range from 151x98x95mm for the 12Ah model to 260x168x211mm for the 70Ah type. Weights range from 3.7 to 24kg. The 12Ah model features 6.35mm tag terminals while M5 inserts are offered on the 18 and 24Ah batteries. The four largest versions have M6 insert terminations.

Additional specifications include operating temperature range from -15 to +50degC with capacity of 100 percent at nominal temperature of 25degC (102 percent at 40degC, 85 percent at 0degC and 65 percent at -15degC). Cyclic charging voltage range is from 14.5 to 14.9V and float charging voltage is from 13.6 to 13.8V.
