New generation Servo family CMMT
A family approach to servo drives provides a comprehensive and fast to use package. Users can commission complete drive systems of servo drive, servo motor and mechanical system in only three minutes.
The compact servo drive CMMT-AS is designed for dynamic point-to-point and interpolating motion applications typically in assembly and handling applications for packaging machines or in the electronics industry.
With its single, closed-loop controller concept for Ethernet-based bus systems, the servo drive enables the direct, virtually seamless fieldbus integration into all major controller manufacturers’ systems. This means efficient and integration into all application programs including controller-specific functions, for example from Siemens, Rockwell or Beckhoff. The auto-tuning function supports the easy commissioning of movements and automatically optimises the control behaviour of the connected servo motors and linear axes from Festo.
The matching EMMT-AS synchronous AC servo motor uses a single-cable solution (OCP) for the power supply, encoder and brake, simplifying installation and saving cabinet space. Complementing its larger siblings, the CMMT-ST enables challenging dynamic motions for small servo motors and all stepper motors. With easy connectivity to Ethernet-based bus systems it can be seamlessly integrated into the controller environ-ments of different manufacturers. The CMMT-ST uses the same platform as the CMMT-AS, the consistent control concept means they can be combined for both large and small axes.
Easy, reliable and, in particular, faster commissioning is made possible by the integrated electronic rating plate which contains all the relevant motor data and can be read directly into the CMMT-AS.
The free Festo Automation Suite is the key software behind the constantly expanding Festo Automation Platform. It enables the commissioning of the entire drive package, from the mechanical system to the controller, in just a few intuitive steps.
