Non-contact switching

Non-contact switching Steute has introduced a new series of inductive Ex sensors that can be used as an alternative to electromechanical switchgear. As the smooth surface of this contact-free switchgear allows for easy cleaning, this new sensor is particularly advantageous in cases where extremely dirty conditions can occur or applications where high hygienic standards need to be maintained. The cylindrical sensors, with diameters of 12, 18 and 30mm, are suitable for applications in Zone 0 (gas Ex) or Zone 20 (dust Ex), so they can be used in atmospheres with an extremely high risk of explosion. The protection class IP67 even permits safe application under rough ambient conditions. Their rather short design - the enclosure of the EEx IS M30 with a diameter of 30mm is only 52 mm long - allows for perfect integration of the sensors in the surrounding construction. The EEx IS M12/M18/M30 series is offered as a complete system with compact amplifying equipment, available in three variants for 24 VDC, 115 VAC and 230 VAC operating voltages. The amplifying equipment supplies the required power for the sensor and transmits the sensor signal.
