Schneider Electric launches fixed price drive repair service

Schneider Electric launches fixed price drive repair service
Global energy management specialist Schneider Electric is enhancing its Variable Speed Drive (VSD) repair service at its Green Plant facility, based in the West Midlands, the only approved Schneider Electric drives repair centre in the UK.  The facility now offers a fixed price drive repair service comprising standard, express and 'no fault found' services, available either direct from Schneider Electric or via our network of authorised distributors.

Using state of the art technology, qualified experts can offer a fast and efficient repair service for ATV 61 and 71 drives rated between 11kW and 90kW at the Telford site. By offering a fixed price for repairs, customers are able to view all costs prior to returning products, rather than wasting time by waiting for a quote. Also there are no exclusions for this offer; the prices are fixed regardless of the condition of the failed drive, which is unique within the industry.

For the standard service, turnaround time is up to 10 working days. An express service is offered for emergency repairs and return of the drives is guaranteed within 3 working days provided the product is received by Green Plant before 12 noon. Drives are either repaired or exchanged with a service replacement item. There is also a 'no fault found' service when a drive undergoes all tests and inspections but no fault is found. In this case, the drive will be serviced and the fans changed (if applicable).

All repairs are carried out in one location, simplifying the process for customers. The repaired items also come with a 2 year warranty, providing customers with peace of mind that the unit is covered against further breakdown. Reports about the drive failure are available on request but may incur further charges.

For critical applications, a loan service is available on request, providing a replacement drive to help you minimise production downtime whilst the original drive is being repaired (subject to availability). This loan service can also be used for application trials, which can enable customers to review cost savings that can be achieved by switching to an energy efficient VSD.

Neil Malpass, field service manager in charge of Schneider Electric's Green Plant facility, comments: "We are proud to launch our new service as we are continually striving to provide businesses with complete peace of mind when it comes to the servicing of their automation and control products."
