Torque sensor has built-in magnetostrictive speed sensor
The new Type 4503B dual range torque sensor from Kistler Instruments has a wide measurement range of 0.2 to 5,000Nm, high resolution rotational speed/angle measurement and high speed ranges of up to 50,000rpm. For highly dynamic measurements the cut-off frequency of 10kHz may be user customised by an integrated, digital, low-pass filter and the second measurement range can be flexibly scaled up to 1:10 or 1:5 of the rated torque.
The new, fully scalable magnetoresistive speed and angle measurement system has a pulse frequency up to 8,192 pulses per revolution, with twin tracks displaced by 90° to provide clockwise and anticlockwise indication. A reference pulse is also available. The fully digital, contactless signal transmission delivers a standard accuracy of 0.05 percent with ±0-5/10V DC signal outputs, an RS-232C serial data output and a USB interface.
