Rimlex sealing process for closed-end rivetnuts

Rivetnut Technology Systems (RTS) says its Rimlex sealing process can now be applied to closed-end rivetnuts, creating a seal between the flange of the rivetnut and material preventing ingress of fluids, air or solids.

Rimlex products are flexible, organic based materials, used to replace copper, aluminium and other more expensive sealing washers. When components are assembled, the material is forced into any gaps between mating surfaces to form a robust seal.

RTS says it is also suitable for high-temperature applications. The company stocks coated closed-end rivetnuts in both M5 and M6 dimensions. This is generally an on-demand service, with other dimensions available on request.
