SolutionsPT holds System Integrator Graduate Day

SolutionsPT continues closing the skills gap with its annual SI Graduate Day – the first part in a programme designed to mirror the support and ‘people first’ approach of the whole industrial ecosystem.

The SolutionsPT network of system integrators invests heavily in training to develop and implement AVEVA solutions for their customers. SolutionsPT recognises this investment with a dedicated SI Graduate Programme. 

Kyle Lion, system architect at SolutionsPT said: “As a people-first organisation, we understand that the most important aspect of digital transformation is how it improves the lives of the human operator. Likewise, we understand bringing in and helping to upskill SI graduates to be the next generation of industrial automation engineers is the only way to close the skills gap and ensure a steady stream of new talent into the workforce.

“These two goals are intrinsically linked; the next generation brings with them a deep understanding of technology and how it can be adopted to enhance solutions and bring sustainable benefits to our customers. The SolutionsPT SI Graduate Programme works towards this by supporting, not just our own, but the recent Graduates of our delivery partner community, with hands-on experience with world-class industrial software.

“It is very likely that the people we teach during the Programme will be the decision-makers of the future, so connecting them early on in their careers with digital transformation experts, who will support them throughout their careers, delivers a lot of value.”

This SI Graduate Day welcomed 20 attendees from across nine different system integrators, who each got hands-on experience with AVEVA Edge, AVEVA InTouch, and AVEVA Systems Platform, as well as participating in a Cyber Security Best Practice session and discussion on the role of cloud-hosted solutions in the industrial sector as part of a wider look at industrial best practices and how new technology is being adopted.

“They witnessed how customers are already deploying each solution and how it is impacting their enterprises by helping them achieve key goals that the graduates will doubtless be discussing with clients new and old over their careers. This culminated in a riveting discussion where apprentices tackled some long-standing industry issues while bringing new perspectives and solutions from their digital backgrounds.

“This initial set of discussions and presentations is an important first step in the wider programme for how SolutionsPT aim to help each attendee become experts in their fields over the course of their careers, bringing new insight and expertise back to their respective organisations.
