The hub for all machine vision knowledge

Following the Government’s decision to cancel all large-scale events and public gatherings, the UK Industrial Vision Association is pleased to announce the launch of the new Technology Presentation Hub on 14 May 2020.

The hub for all machine vision knowledge

Born out of the unforeseen postponement of this year’s UKIVA Machine Vision Conference & Exhibition (MVC) until Spring 2021, the Hub will provide 2020 event registrants with FREE access to this year’s speaker programme from the comfort of their own home PC, tablet or smartphone.

The Conference has always been designed to be educational and appeal to visitors new to machine vision as well as seasoned professions, so the Association’s latest initiative will ensure that registrants can still access a variety of technical content, online.

In keeping with the themes from this year’s Machine Vision Conference event, the Technology Presentation Hub will house a multitude of audible 20-minute presentations that span virtually the entire industrial vision spectrum. These comprise: Deep Learning & Embedded Vision, Vision In Robotics, Understanding Vision Technology, Systems & Applications, 3D Vision, Camera Technology, Optics & Illumination and Vision Innovation.

Speaking ahead of the Hub’s official launch date, Allan Anderson, Chairman of UKIVA, said:

“Machine Vision technology has become central to modern day manufacturing. Applications of machine vision and imaging are fast becoming increasingly more sophisticated, which creates an appetite for more manufacturers and suppliers to keep up to date with the latest trends.

“Our speaker programme has always proved popular for those attending previous MVC events; therefore, we wanted to provide an opportunity for exhibitors to continue to share their industry insight via a new online hub.

“Users will have the opportunity to view all or cherry-pick the presentations most relevant to their specialism or areas of interest. The presentation material will also be available beyond the launch date too – to serve as a precursor to the next Conference & Exhibition in Spring 2021,” he added.

Richard Love, EAMA marketing manager for NVIDIA® Jetson and keynote speaker for this year’s Machine Vision Conference event, is just one of many presentations that users will have access to through the Hub.

Love will discuss ‘Applying AI at the edge – a vision of the future’, and how NVIDIA® Jetson’s platform, Cuda and parallel GPU acceleration can meet the increasing demands of 21st century machine vision.

Meanwhile, Kieran Edge, technical lead for machine vision at the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre at the University of Sheffield, will consider ‘advances in polarisation imaging and AI in inspection’ and these techniques and low-cost approaches to help tackle demanding applications for the high-value manufacturing industry.
