WAGO says its latest 221-420 terminal block represents one big step forward when it comes to saving time and space, compactness and versatility, thereby setting new standards for electrical connectors.
Unlike jumpers, WAGO's latest terminal does not reduce the number of contacts. The 420 terminal of the 221 series features 10 contacts for wires of a similar electrical potential that enable easy toolless installation. The product supports single-core wires with cross-sections from 0.14 to 4 mm2 as well as multi-core cables sized 0.2 to 4 mm2. Moreover, WAGO's compact two-tier design makes the terminal the go-to choice when board space is limited.
The WAGO terminal comes with a 450 V rating, and a current rating of 32 A. This boosts the range of uses if you want to wire distributors and switchboards that control blinds, heating systems, supply technology, intercoms, electrical cookers and many other appliances in buildings.
WAGO's terminal block uses CAGE CLAMP technology - a reliable maintenance-free wiring method centred around spring-loaded contacts. This makes time-consuming pre-installation procedures such as crimping lugs on wire ends redundant, speeding up the work of electrical contractors and the production lines of equipment manufacturers alike.
WAGO also pays a lot of attention to user safety. The product's transparent casing enables easy visual inspection of each wire that complies with applicable standards. Moreover, the terminal sports openings both at the front and at the back that allow you to check the wire contact after the terminal has been installed.
WAGO supplies a variety of fixings for their terminal, including strain reliefs, and adapters with and without latches that enable rail-mounting the product in both upright and horizontal orientation. Moreover, WAGO also offers a certified explosion-proof version complying with ATEX standards, and a sustainable Green Range edition.
